Pizza Dough Recipe

This is a recipe for a pizza dough that is easy to make with tips and hints on making homemade pizza. The recipe in this page will make a thick crust pizza.

Pizza is all about the dough. And the dough is all about how you handle and finish baking it.

Pizza doughs, regardless of recipe, are basically the same. Flour, water, olive oil with salt and yeast. Sometimes some sugar and/or flavorings are added.

For this dough, we use 350 grams of all purpose flour, 30 grams of sugar, 170 grams of water, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Use a package of dried yeast or 6 grams of fresh yeast.

This recipe will make two 28 cm pizzas.

They will be thick crust pizzas. If you adjust the amount of sugar you can make the crust rather sweet.

The dough freezes well so you can put one of the balls in the freezer and use it over the next week or two.

 

 

To make life easy for yourself, make the dough in the morning, or the day before, and put the dough ball in either the refrigerator or freezer and take it out just before you intend to use it.
